One thing that might help some other owners... many of the seat bolts can be accessed from under the truck. If rusty threads are an issue, you can usually get a wire brush or wire wheel on them to clean them up and spray penetrating oil on from below or run a die over them. One thing I did on...
My '96 2-door Tahoe needed a seat cushion. When I did mine I worked with The Seat Shop (near Dallas) for the replacement cushion and I also went with new leather seat covers and armrest covers. The fit was perfect and The Seat Shop's on-line videos were a big help. www.theseatshop.com
Like Woodblocker55 said above "... if one line rusts out there is another not too far behind it." I have a 1996 2-door Tahoe and had that very experience. About 10 years ago I replaced all of my brake lines after buying a coil of tube and fittings then spending a lot of time bending new ones...
Did you do the seals on the front differential already?
If the half-shafts pop out of the differential like they are designed to do then the job is not too tough. If the circle clips hang up and don't release it can be a major job. Happy to provide more detail if you have yet to do the seal...
Just had same thing with my '96 5.7L gas 2-door. Cranked strong but would not fire after 4 days of rain... after running normally before the rain. Replaced the distributor cap, rotor and Hall Effect Switch (inside the distributor). Now fires up great even while raining. I am not sure which part...
