Constant 12V Power in Overhead Console

That's perfect! Thanks for the tip, I'll get one on the way!

Constant 12V Power in Overhead Console

I don't need constant power, I was just trying to avoid having to run power wires up to the overhead console if I could pick up a good power source up there instead. That may be what I have to do though. Just baffled me as to why it kills the battery when I'm pulling power from a circuit that...

Constant 12V Power in Overhead Console

Here's my situation: I have a wireless phone charging mount that is suction-cupped under my rearview mirror. It's nice because I can snap my phone onto the mount and it charges and connects to my radio wirelessly and automatically. But I hate having the wire from the charger running down the...

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

Yes it does. I have started shifting manually when I leave in the morning so I can leave it in 4th until I crest the top of the hill and the load lightens. Then I shift into 5th on the downhill. The shift is still delayed but it's easier on the clutches when it finally catches.

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

I agree that rebuilding is the best route, and I'd love to do it myself (did the C6 in my street truck 10 years ago, still working great), but I don't have the time to do that with this Yukon since it's my daily. I also don't know of any reputable trans shops around here anymore, most of them...

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

So, I think I will try the solenoid rebuild before I give up totally on this trans. Worth a shot for $100. If I can get rid of the delay in the 4-5 shift I'd be happy. Not sure it will fix it but better than swapping the trans.

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

I don't have the service records from before I bought it, but I changed the fluid/filter at about 170K. Both fluid and filter were clean.

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

I've always heard that these transmissions are not real smooth shifting and have some quircks, so I hadn't put much thought into the issues until the 5th gear issue just started to crop up. I've owned it for 5 years and bought it with 125K, and reverse has been slow engaging since then...

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

Yes, I do have the 6L80e. There are technical bulletins everywhere that describe the exact problem that I have, which are delays in reverse engagement, flares in 2-3, and 3-5. All indications are that the rev/3/5 drum is cracked, which is a common issue with 07-08 6l80/6l90 trans. Requires...

    2008 Yukon Denali Transmission Swap

My transmission is on its way out in my 2008 Yukon Denali. For several years it has had a delay going into reverse, and for the past year it has had a flare on the 2-3 shift. Now, for the past month or so it has had a 1-2 second delay and slippage on the 4-5 shift, especially first thing in...

Oil pan gasket and Motor mount time!

Thanks, that was my thought as well.

Oil pan gasket and Motor mount time!

I'm planning to do this work this Saturday, I don't think I can get a deflector here in time. I already have motor mounts and pan gasket waiting, and the oil pickup o-ring will be delivered tomorrow. Also changing front diff fluid while I'm at it. If the AFM isn't active, it shouldn't need a...

Oil pan gasket and Motor mount time!

Thanks. Just had so many people say I need to do that, wanted to make sure.

    2008 Yukon Denali P0442

Mine had that code at 130K. Had to take it to the dealer to diagnose with a smoke machine. Turned out to be the vent on the top of the fuel pump sending unit. It had a pinhole rusted through even though there was almost zero rust anywhere else on the Yukon. New fuel pump sending unit fixed...

Oil pan gasket and Motor mount time!

So just to get this straight, my Yukon is a 2008 Denali with the L92 6.2. It doesn't have AFM. Do I still need a deflector?
