HID retrofit w/TSX projectors: walkthrough w/pictures

These are the 9005 LED's I got. They are out of stock now, but I would imagine any similar spec'd LED would perform about the same. In my reflector bowl high beams, these things are insanely bright. I have the 6-high mod with HID's in the fogs, too, so I have a ton of light when I switch on the...

    Tahoe/Yukon Headlight Information Thread

Soulsea...been awhile since I've been around. Life has a funny way of distracting you from things that don't matter as much...lol. This is a great write-up. I'm still rockin' the same retro. My Depo lenses need to be polished, but that's about the only complaint.

    Best wiper blades

I do a lot of bad-weather highway driving and have tried them all. I was a Bosch fan but still had problems getting a clean wipe at highway speeds. I got Trico Force wipers last fall and these are hands-down the cleanest wiping blades at higher speeds that I've found yet. Sent from my SM-G975U...

HID retrofit w/TSX projectors: walkthrough w/pictures

You can use 35w, which is the standard OEM wattage for HIDs. I wouldn't go higher than 55w personally. The higher the wattage, the hotter they get and I have melted a couple of lenses with 55 watts. Also greatly reduces bulb life as you step up wattage. Your current bulbs should work fine with...

HID retrofit w/TSX projectors: walkthrough w/pictures

Yes, ballasts are universal. You may or may not have to get a connector adapter for the bulb depending on what you do, but that's easy and cheap.

HID retrofit w/TSX projectors: walkthrough w/pictures

I'll see if I can dig them up. If you go with a true HID retrofit like mine, you'll be using D2S HID bulbs, not a standard bulb converted to HID. As for reliable ballasts, I only use Morimoto from the retrofit source. Never had an issue, but they are more expensive up front.

HID retrofit w/TSX projectors: walkthrough w/pictures

Sorry the pics aren't working anymore. My Photobucket got hacked a while back. It's still a solid retrofit, mine is still running strong with excellent light, but as mentioned, there are now easier ways to get it done. FWIW, I got some high quality, high-output LED bulbs for the high beams...

My oil pressure gauge is pegged...is that bad?

I'm not sure. When I have a question I take it in for an estimate. Most places don't charge for an estimate and tell you what they think is wrong.

My oil pressure gauge is pegged...is that bad?

Yeah, I've also gone through two fuel pumps in 5 years. Stupid design, requires a ton of work to replace, so even though the part is under warranty it still costs a few hundred in labor for the fuel pump replacement. [emoji35]

My oil pressure gauge is pegged...is that bad?

Mine quit *******, and now it jumps all over the place. Zero to all over. The stupid low pressure alarm goes off all the time and is super annoying. Mechanic said it's the sending unit (again) but haven't had time or money to fix it yet.

    2003 Denali Cabin Air Filter?

Thanks, man! Yeah, I kinda disappeared for a while. New job, had to move, life's been crazy!

    2003 Denali Cabin Air Filter?

Yeah, I took it apart and looked. It's just solid plastic where the little swing down tabbed latch thing would be. How the heck are you supposed to clean up/out the HVAC? What a dumb design. IMO

    2003 Denali Cabin Air Filter?

Does it have one? All the auto parts stores list one (which you need two of), but when I took the kick panel off to access it there didn't seem to be anything there to replace. Further research suggests GM did away with replaceable filters, but I can't figure out how to tell when exactly they...

    Cooper Zeon LTZ A/T tires

Honestly didn't notice any difference in mileage from the old tires. I'm now on my second set. I put about 30,000 miles on the first ones, lost some bearings and didn't notice it until it had worn the tread really unevenly. Not the tire's fault, but they weren't safe to drive. Got a whole new...
