OP is not talking about that.
When these vehicles sit idle for 30ish minutes, they turn off.
OP - I've experienced it and it's annoying. Not sure if you can disable the feature. When the countdown to shutoff begins, I just put it in gear and back into park. I think that resets the timer. Been...
Yep, they were connected to the vehicle's hotspot. The hotspot has been rock solid, with great reliability, speed, and coverage. Very happy with it. I ran a speedtest rolling down 95 at 80mph in the middle of North Carolina and was getting 60mbps down and 50mbps up. It uses AT&T.
If you decide...
We took a trip this past weekend - about 14 hours driving. My boys used the Mi Box S for a majority of the trip, watching Disney+ streamed from my wife's phone. No issues. Just an update from my previous posts complaining of Chromecast issues.
Regarding hotspot data - there's also the option to prepay for one or two years. I bought two years for $380, which comes to less than $16/month. I've been very happy with the hotspot. It's worked well for us.
I doubt the supplied headphones even work in the third row. In my experience, they have to be directly in front of the screen to function properly.
My advice is to use bluetooth headsets. Much better audio and reliability.
Everything I had prior to buying our Tahoe relied on USB-A, so I picked up a couple sets of these to adapt to the USB-C.

They've worked out great.
Yes, the rear seat passengers can select the video they want to watch, and you can also select it from the front center screen. Each rear screen can watch its own video independently.
Yes, a couple of us discussed using flash drives earlier in this thread. I'm using a 256GB drive using NTFS (for larger file sizes). 256 is the largest I've tried.
There is a USB-A and USB-C connector in the center console, which are great for hiding the drive(s).
It's a personal decision that only you can decide, Richard.
That said, we were looking at a 2020 Suburban Premier before ultimately buying our 2021 Tahoe High Country. We really liked the Suburban and it would have been a great vehicle for us and done everything we need, but once we sat in the...
Right now, I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Box S. We've been casting Youtube and Disney+ to it without issue for the past few days. It's a bit bigger than a Chromecast, but it's working.

Not sure why GM implemented Miracast. Android dropped Miracast support with v6.0, which was released in ***October 2015***.
I bought a couple of these 90 degree HDMI adapters to mitigate the risk of damage to the HDMI ports or devices.

I got the Xiaomi Mi Box S installed and, so far, no problems. I also picked up an Nvidia Shield, but I don't think I'm going to use it in the vehicle. The Mi Box is much more compact and hideable. I'll report back if I see any issues.
I've kept a Google Docs log of this whole thing...
Thanks for the posts, Mike.
I think I understand what you're saying...see if you agree. With streaming content, the resolution changes as bandwidth changes/stabilizes. The stream may start out at 480, then bump to 1080 or 2160 if bandwidth allows. It's at those changes in resolution that you...
