    Rodent Damage

Note that a lot of dealers will want to replace the wiring harness when a rat chews through one wire. I've heard horror stories of $4,000 bills from BMW dealers on this issue. We had a rat chew threw a wire on my wife's Toyota - it was running on one less cylinder - which is a real issue when...

Stunned!! Denali 6.2 spun a rod bearing at 25k..

Doesn't sound like special treatment - that's what any owner SHOULD EXPECT for warranty work. Really, the longest wait period should be the engine heading by truck to the dealer from the factory in Michigan. Good to hear they got it done for you.

Magnetic Ride Control vs Air Ride Suspension

My '17 Denali had just Magnetic Ride Control and rode fantastic. My '23 has MRC WITH the air suspension, and it rides 10 times better. So - Yes!

    2022 Denali oil comsumption

I agree that I wouldn’t accept “this is normal” from a dealer. Try another dealer or call GM. If you can’t get satisfaction, you may be stuck selling that lemon and buying another.

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

For future reference, changing the oil will never solve any problems that an engine is having.

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

That doesn’t make any sense. Why would it take a month to diagnose? Did you talk directly to GM about a rental, or did the dealer tell you that? As suggested, I think you need a different dealer- those guys are terrible. As for fuel - I always use 91 (highest available in California.)...

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

Got a call during lunch today that the truck was ready, so I went and picked it up. The tech told me it was a main bearing, but the work order said that the #7 and #8 rod bearings failed. They: 1. Replaced engine. 2. Replaced oil cooling system. (contaminated with metal debris) 3. Replaced...

    2024 yukon denali range estimate

It seems to change based on your driving. I do mostly in town short trips, and it will tell me 350 range on a full tank. After a weekend of heavy freeway driving, it’ll say over 400 after a fill up.

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

The dealer called and said my new engine arrived today. I should be up and running by Wednesday next week.

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

Yep. The failures seem to happen at about 3,000 miles or so, too - so that’s how long a 6.2 LS will last with bad bearings, I guess. Another interesting note - according to the dealer, when the push button transmission sticks in park, the only work around is to have someone crawl under with...

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

I saw a few threads on this, but it's such a big failure that I think my issue deserves another thread. I was an hour from home on Friday and fortunately was 2 miles from my exit, so I was in the right lanes of the freeway. The engine died, and I coasted off at the next exit. I stopped at a...

Remove Front License Plate Bracket - 2023 Yukon?

Either that, or I’ll just put the California black plate up front. I’ve currently just got the empty black bracket on, and it looks ok below the blacked out grille. Looks like the alternative is doing minor paint work on a new car, and I’m not too enthusiastic about that.

Remove Front License Plate Bracket - 2023 Yukon?

Thanks! My '17 was White Frost Tricoat, (which I loved), so I went with the Sterling Metallic. It's a cool "dark silver" that I really like. I keep saying that I thought my '17 was the best car ever made (smothest riding, etc.) The '23 is 10 times better in every way! My favorite options...

Remove Front License Plate Bracket - 2023 Yukon?

Your state doesn't have front plates and they still put it on? Weird! GM must pay the dealers labor to do it or something. Thanks for that info. That is probably more work than I want to take on, but I do really hate that big ugly bracket!

Remove Front License Plate Bracket - 2023 Yukon?

Hello, It's been a few years. My '17 Yukon XL Denali was parked on a public street in October, and a drunk driver in a Ford Focus managed to hit it hard enough to total it. So - it's been replaced with a '23 Yukon XL Denali Ultimate. My first move with a new car is always to remove the front...
