These were a breeze to install, took some googling on removal of the tail lights but not difficult.

With Cover Removed

LED lamps and difference between the two. They are polarity sensitive, the new bulbs plug either way in but they will not work if plugged in backwards, turn them 180 degrees and plug back in..

Test, with two people.

New lamps installed. Pretty basic.

Used a T12 Torx, a panel pry tool, and a cloth so I did not touch the bulb. I'll follow up with some "after" pic's when it gets a bit dark.

Are you installing just the back-up lights or the brake lights as well?

I'm surprised at the difference in "turn on time" between incandescent and led--which is why I want to convert the brake lights to Philips led... Eek!

Just the back-up. I hadn't researched the brake lights but I do recall reading issues with the fast blink creating headaches.

Any pointers for removing the rear housing to install these?

Not really, just use a pry tool against the door seal and with a little patience they just pop loose. The guide pins that hold the light on the outer edge take a little bit of wiggling to get them loose, I just took my time and they pulled straight out.

Thanks. I ordered the reverse bulbs last night on Amazon, gonna try to get them installed tomorrow once they arrive. You said there was a noticeable difference in LUMENS/Brightness though right?

Well they are much better but not like "holy hell" better. I think they throw the light farther. My wife's complaint was being able to see well when backing up using the camera and turning around, she noticed the difference right away and this was without her knowing I had changed them out. I think they do a good job of distributing the light better. Our drive is sloped quite a bit so it makes it difficult to tell. Overall It was a worthy investment in a quality product. I did notice they also make a tail light LED 7440/7443 lamp. I'm thinking about these next but not much info to compare other's experiences.
