I'm old enough that I shouldn't have gotten caught with this on a rig I just bought, but here it is... 2007 Denali, oil pressure drops to virtual zero when stopped - Video is below.

I've read a couple threads about a grommet being crushed out in the oil pump, I'm really hoping that's it. It's AWD, so I think the oil pan isn't just going to drop for me but maybe I can still get it out. We'll see.

Let me know if you have any thoughts about the symptoms, dropping my pan with AWD, or anything else.

Thanks folks-

Yikes. There is some garbage in our 2007 engines after reading most of the night. Cam bearings are a recall item. I'm in for a new engine as far as I can tell. Might as well order a short block and start an LS3 budget build thread. I couldn't F it up any worse than it is now. I'll go for those updated Clevite bearings...

I would start with the o-ring inbetween the oil pickup tube and pump. That was my culprit.

Yeah you're probably right. Why not go $5 part first.

Also check the screen in front of the oil pressure sensor. They seem to get clogged quite a bit.

Solved! Burgundy, you're the man. Gracias... This is my o-ring, in no less than six plasticized pieces...

And some pictures during - this isn't rocket science, but definitely no small feat for me in the garage... Took about 7 hours, I took my time...

Glad I could pass the info along. These rings seems to be a culptrit to a lot of peoples oil pressure and lifter tap issues. Funny how an o-ring can cause such stress!
