I just wanted to introduce everyone to my new girlfriend. She is a 68 Mustang GT500 Tribute car. Just fresh off restoration. I am sure I will be neglecting my wife for her in the near future.

Thanks, she is pretty sweet. The guy who restored it builds Eleanor replicas. He got a hold of this 68 coupe and did his thing. It has an engine block from an 87 Mustang that was rebuilt and worked a bit, coupled with a Ford toploader 4spd. It's not a racecar, but it has some good power and sounds awesome with the side pipes. Needs some disk brakes in the front, but that's about it. Just in time for summer!

Believe it or not, it was not that expensive. I got it for $20,500, which if it was a fastback with the same treatment, it would have be 40-50k. I already had someone offer me 27k for it. Looks like a good investment so far.

Very nice. I've always been a fan of the mustangs until around the nineties when they came out with the new design. The old boxy 5.0 was one of my fav in high school. You can do so much to those cars its pretty crazy.

I always loved the 80s LX with the 5.0. Like the Florida state troopers used to drive.

I had a blown/geared/etc'ed '93 Mustang Cobra. It was a great car. But your 68 is just beautiful. Enjoy it!

$20,500?

Damn...just wait until I have my own garage...

GORGEOUS car! I think I like it because it isn't a fastback...makes it a little different than what you normally see.

It was non functional, so I took it off yesterday and am replacing it with a wood Shelby knob. It was a cool idea, but I didn't like the wire running down the shifter and if I wasn't going to use it for anything, it goes bye bye.

I agree, I like the coupes better than the fastbacks. They have that vintage racecar look. I am taking it to a Mustang show on the 20th and I bet there won't be another like it.
