Please specify if you're driving a tahoe/yukon or suburban type truck. As the suburbans do have larger gas tanks than tahoes. Short wheelbase trucks (both 2 and 4 door) get a 26 (what GM calls 30) gallon capacity tank, while the suburbans received a 42 gallon tank.

I get around 250, all city, 26 gal tank.

unknown at this time.
2dr and 4dr alike are all supposed to be 30 gallon capacity but typically the usable capacity used by us is about 23-26 gallons before filling up because we see our gauges indicate low. Being raked effects how we see that gauge reading as well. As a result there could be a few last gallons that never make it to the engine when it is that low. the tank does not really have a collector sump to catch it as it moves around.

Guessin' I coulda' squeezed a few more miles/full tank then.
Even though.... I'm not complainin' about the mpg I got w/my setup. Hell, my neighbors got a 6cyl Jeep Cherokee, and he's only gettin' about 16mpg with a stock setup.

so it sounds like 250 would be an ok bet as the lowest a stock one should get.

Fuel Mileage

I own a '96 Tahoe 4x4 4-door and recently made a 400 mile round trip from Chattanooga, TN, to Manchester, GA. I kept the speed between 65 to 68 mph and averaged 18.5 mpg. I'm running on Michelin LTX 265/75/16's with 40 psi all around. 3.42 gear ratio and 4L60E trans. All stock under the hood. The truck has 178k showing. Hope this helps...

My truck is in major needs for parts - 99% of the truck has original parts and 216K miles on it... - Had the truck for +-6 months and got it that way - Just changed the plugs/wires (tried to change the cap and rotor but the truck started bucking so I put the original back on)

What I have been getting is roughly 400+- per tank - 96 Tahoe 4WD

One perk that I have (not sure about the rest of you) is the gas station I go to is 100% pure gas - absolutely no ethanol with regular gas - so I am sure with proper parts it could get better

I have tested that their gas is much better, with my '10 Cobalt I was getting low 30s on the highway, ran a few tanks of ethanol free gas through it and I was in the mid 40's - Heck even in town I was getting 30

I get 390....at least that's when I start looking for a station real quick like. Put A cold air intake on. Helped it Zero. Than again, I accelerate harder because I like how it sounds.

The other day with a little over 1/2 a tank of mixed city/two lane hwy driving and a little less than 1/2 a tank of 70-75mph interstate driving I got 316 miles before I filled up. I still had a couple of hash marks above empty showing. I never run my vehicles all the way down to empty for fear of damaging the fuel pump.

With that mix of driving, it calculated out to 13.3 mpg. That was with 23.781 gallons at the fill-up. Keep in mind I'm running a 6" lift and 315/70R17's with 4.56 gears.

The part I don't understand is all 2-door tahoes have 30 gallon tanks, evidently there's 6 gallons left in the last two hash marks?
