Ok, so I am lookin for a dd unit for my hoe. I really like the pioneer 4200 and 4300 for the money but I cant seem to find much difference between them. I really like them because they have the rear USB so i wont have cables everywhere.

So for you audio buffs whats a good DD unit?? I dont want Navi, so that dont matter. Brand doesnt matter either. But I do have a nice stereo so it cant be too cheap. would like to keep it under 500!

I love my pioneer avic_920bt, it has navi, bluetooth, pandora, and I can watch my Netflix with it. Picked it up at my local audio shop for $350

ive read a lot of mixed reviews on the clarion 401. although i like the fact that i can get one for 250$ if you shop hard for it.
i am really leaning towards the 4300. seems like a bigger bang for the buck. you can get them NEW on ebay for $320!

you guys that are using the 4300. do you need any special cables to use your iphone or ipad with it? what about watching movies? seems like these are a pain to bypass??

i would go to a shop and play with that sony before you drop money.. evidently the interface is sluggish.... I have not had any issues with my Pioneer.. and it is very easy to tye in a relay to bypass the ebrake crap for video on the road.. though i only use it in game day freaking stop and stop traffic..

I'm hoping someone who has actually owned one will chime in. I've heard the same stuff, but I've never heard it from anyone who has actually owned one. I'm curious to hear their opinion.

Has anybody ever tried the eBay knock-off DD DVD units? I wonder if they're good enough to squeeze their cost out of them. I just can't bring myself to trust off brand shit though. I'd have to hear somebody swear by them before I could give one a shot......and I don't see people lining up to do that. lol

I dont know if your still looking but I just got the Pioneer p3300bt for $300 new and would highly recommend it. If you have an Iphone you can use bluetooth, run pandora, stream netflix and use voice guided turn by turn. Im extremely pleased. I found the pioneer DD's to be more user friendly and a better overall feel compared to say kenwood, clarion or alpine. Stay far away from the cheap ebay knock offs
