We finally made it to 85 and we weren’t ready, so HOT!

it's a different kind of hot up there compared to here, dry heat here and more humid there.

When I was younger and dumber* I spent some time in Djibouti doing boring stuff in the desert, and I would rather be in a dry 100F+ vs. the humid hell of 80F Camp Lejeune as the sun starts burning off the morning rain.

My 16” Wilwoods actually look quite a big bigger. Very nice though. How do they cost in comparison if you don’t mind asking what Tony charged ballpark wise.

That pic really doesn't do them justice. I might get one next to a tape measure. They're crazy lol. The fronts were 1599 shipped for everything needed. I love the Wilwoods but didn't wanna spend that lol. Wanted some extra 6.0 money that I'll FINALLY start building soon (after the 4.10s)

ya if it hits 100+ up in oregon, which is rare (not in the desert portion) then it is pretty miserable when we went up for memorial day weekend it was 88 on saturday we all got sunburnt somehow, it's been 85-95 here for over a month straight, no rain, no clouds and we don't get sunburnt. weird

Believe it or not, elevation and smog/air quality effect the UV index. So, clean air and altitude will burn you more.

Swapped wheels from the Denali onto the Tahoe until I fix the Denali.

What sort of temp. drop did you see?

Consistently my escalade holds 210-212F at steady state highway driving with 75F outside. Right after the install of these it was sitting at 208F which is not much but I think that with a little bit if hood extraction, there is likely better air flow through the radiator. Really need to test the underhood temps with them open and closed the same day and see what I get. Thats coming next.

I just installed these Raybestos Element 3 rotors and pads on my 08 LTZ about 3 months ago and I’m real happy. They’re not drilled or slotted if that’s what you want but they came with good reviews both from another member here but online also. They’re quality and the pads are a hybrid ceramic and semi-metallic and I’m seeing little to no dust. Their rotors are fully coated against corrosion also. All 4 rotors and pads were $312 shipped. They seem to stop way better than stock IMO.

growing up in FL and then a few years in swampy Nola, now in south tx. I absolutely hate the dry 110 plus deg days. Just feels like death anytime working outside after 10am. FL it can 95 and humidity as possible and as long as you got airflow from a shop fan, it's only 95. you'd body can still cool itself at 95. 110 you can't get enough water thur you to drop much body heat.

humidity over dry heat anytime plus things can grow in 95 humid, so you have trees, shade and even grass. there everything is dead. it literally killed oak trees last year it was so hot.


I hate it here lol.

I used to live on Galveston Island, so I know all about the heat & humidity. Comparing apples to apples - I'd take the dry heat especially when you include having shade and a fan.

Those look awesome and by the look of it, they are probably way lighter than the OEM PPV Tahoe option which uses all steel rotors and I bet those weight a hefty amount. If you can combine this set up with a light weight wheel this will make the truck perform 10x better in every situation.

not sure, I'm sure the wilwoods are quite a bit lighter. The rotor weight would make the most difference. My rotors are out for delivery

The more you can reduce unsprung weight, the better.
