I'm looking at a new scanner. Top Don, ArtiDiag900 Lite. My Snap On Solus Pro can not do ALC reset or rear lift gate diagnosis.
Does anyone know if this new scanner will do the ALC reset and lift gate diagnostics?

I had the little topdon 50$ dongle. it was nice for a year. but I haven't renewed it. could buy a new one for half what a renewal costs lol.

it seemed to do a lot of stuff, I don't remember if it did hatch thou. acl is the mag ride reset? I have a tech 2 so I used that to reset mine. I only really used the top don for quick phone stuff while driving. like check tranny and my hybrid info. and other manufacturers like my neighbors Ford and the ford's at work.

I picked up the new gear wrench dongle for work, it's more at 150$ but never expires/free updates, plus I got work to pay for it haha. I can check if does the hatch and stuff for you. but won't be back at work till Wednesday to get it.

For simple stuff, I use Torque Pro.
For deeper stuff I have a Slous Pro but I have found it is lacking a few things I would like to have like ALC reset.
Maybe for a 2007 with Z55 there is no ALC, Trim height, Bump stop reset?
Maybe the module is bad and not working at all so i have no option for it?

Ordered the new TopDon scanner.
Should be able to sell the snap-on locally and almost pay for the new one.

A guy can not simply buy a new scanner and not report on how it works.

I looked at a lot of reviews and almost all were positive a few mediocre but not bad. I checked ScanerDanner, Ivan and South main they had no info on it I could find.
The ArtiDiag900 Lite is usually priced about $450. It's on sale for $299 on Amazon right now.

I would have bought a Tech 2 but I work on other brands for people sometimes also.

I think I used that very TOPDON a couple of weeks ago on an old Dodge Ram and Cadillac SRX. It did everything we needed it to do, testing fuel pumps and injectors and such. My Tech-2 stayed in the box that day, can't work on those two cars. I did use my MDI to program the fuel pump control module on the SRX and did not try to use the TOPDON.

First, I need to say I have no real scanner experience. I do own a Snap-On Solus Pro that is supposed to work for 2009 and earlier vehicles. It will read the wife's 2014 Avalanche and tests the systems fine.
My other troubleshooter device is Torque Pro.

Got this TopDon scanner today.
Once you make an account with TopDon you can update it to the latest software. Took about a 1/2 hour.
First thing I did after getting it all set up was do a full system scan.
23 systems were scanned. 9 were detected with DTC's for a total of 21 DTC's
Most are history codes that I assume happened when I bought it and the battery was almost totally dead related to loosing communication with BCM.
3 codes are hard faults. Lumbar support, Lift gate module and the other I don't remember but was minor also.

The Solus Pro showed nothing except "Lost communication with Module" when looking at the BCM. Well what module? No way to tell I could find. I assumed Tail gate or Suspension.

The new scanner seems fast enough for me when switching screens.
It will test and operate all the systems on my 07 Yukon XL Denali. I would assume it will do that for all but the newest ones?

The scanner told me my Lift gate module has a short to ground. Maybe it is, maybe not. I'll need to test it on the bench, I think.

It can diagnose Active suspension and test it.
It has the ability to activate all shocks individually for testing. It has and can graph all 4 shocks together or singly for live data.
I did not think to try an ALC, Bump stop or ride height trim reset.

You can save a Health report of all systems or an individual system report to a file for later reference.

I did not get to fiddle with it enough today but for sure will this weekend.
First impressions are I'm impressed and very pleased with the scanner. I'm positive it will be a great benefit when working on my vehicles or other people's cars.

I really like this new scanner. It does so much more than the old snap on I was using.

I went ahead and bought the RLink J2534 Pass through device. I'll be learning how to use and trying it out this weekend using my 07 Yukon as the test vehicle.

Thanks for the detailed review. Does it offer an option for doing a relearn on the steering angle sensor, by chance?

I did not hook it up to a vehicle and I could not find it just looking through the software. I did find this on the website.

The scanner supports eight commonly used reset functions, including oil resets, throttle adaptation, EPB resets, steering angle resets, DPF regeneration, ABS bleeding, BMS resets, and airbag resets.

may want to try running the steering reset. I found a scanner once that showed it but when I ran it, it just locked up the program and needed hard reboot to exit.

I'm still not sure these are resetable since the tech 2 can't do it

@SpareParts, any update for us on the ArtiDiag900 Lite or the RLink J2534?

The ArtiDiag900 Lite is on sale at Topdon and Amazon for $299.00 as of this writing, so I was wondering if I should jump on one now.

Thanks in advance!

Love it. Mine has done everything i have needed it to.
The scanner reads all modules and will do everything i have tried or needed to do.
I have not found anything it would not do that i needed, but i will say i have not had to do bunches with it.
It has commands and tests for all modules, as well as live data.
Anything specific you want to know?

Also, I have used the RLink twice, once on my Yukon and once on a friends Yukon and it worked as it should.
