I cannot directly assist you on this question, but kits sold by Rough Country are quite popular with folks on this Forum., @Trey Hardy may be able to give you some pointers on your question.

Deleting factory air ride, is this an expensive and extensive modification?

No you just replace the air ride shocks for regular shocks. I ran coil overs up front to replace the struts for a better ride.
If you’re worried about dash lights you got to get these things for the ride height sensors that plugs into them to keep dash lights off. And simply un plug the air compressor it’s a pretty simple conversion. Literally 2 bolts in the back shocks and a plug or two on the compressor
Front is the top 3 strut bolts and two on the bottom and the 2 plugs on the ride height sensors

Youve done this with the ‘21 and newer rigs?

No the 07-19s but it’s the same concept look on fox or icons websites
I suppose its pretty much the same concept. But it is a completely different setup. Those just had air shocks in the rear with typical coil suspension. These are nothing but air. Im sure the electronics are also much more intrusive with the new system and possibly a bit harder to bypass, but i havnt read anything about it or seen anybody that offers kits for it.

Ive seen some but they’re like 300-400$ for the harness thing. If their like the older Tahoes you can simply unplug the sensors and compressor and change the shocks out and it’ll be fine you’ll just have some dash lights on

The problem is, there is no coil springs on the new ones with air ride. Just an air bag.

Maybe the struts from a non air-ride model would slip in there and bolt up? Then just would need the computer reprogrammed…as the lights on the dash would most likely put the vehicle into limp mode.

Ours has the air suspension and so far, has been great other than the vibration in the rear when the suspension unloads over bumps. I talked with Rough Country, and they said they have never heard of that issue. During normal driving it's fine but if you hit a big bump, you will feel the vibration. We have had the Tahoe just over a year but only put 2600 miles on it at this point. I will work on figuring out the vibration correction.
