Agreed, just that DFW Clay and I both have a Z71 ordered during the same time frame (ordered 8/28, TPW 9/19) so I thought it was odd. Any who, asked my dealer but probably I'm out of luck if I still want mine built next week. Just annoying as it's one option my wife wanted for the kids (regardless of the mixed reviews of it).

Also that I've had a Yukon XL on order since March but with the 2023 constraints pushing people to spend up more, I wasn't too confident in getting it in time for Christmas or spring break road trips.

Mild update - submitted a fresh order for a Suburban that now includes RSE. Hopefully not too much of a delay, but unfortunate as the original order is being built this week. And as they say, happy wife...

Thanks @DFW Clay for your post!

It’s the 5.3 - since it’s a premier it still has the quad exhaust. Like bunky mentioned I’m guessing you have something on your build that’s on heavy constraint- and max tow would be the most likely culprit.
Negative on the max tow. I had 6.2, pano moonroof and premier package 2. No 22in and no air ride.

Hmm.. maybe the 6.2 is holding it up ? I don’t really have a good answer then since I seem to have the same stuff

Well, I hate that you have to re-order, but yes, happy wife indeed! Hopefully the build goes fast!

Are you 100% sure your dealer actually has an allocation to spend on a Premier? He may be telling you it is constrained when in fact they just don't have an allocation at the moment. Just throwing that out there....

Was able to grab another ‘23 off the lot this weekend. Supplier pricing. Tahoe premier with steps, roof, 22s, blk badges. The fact that I was able to grab this and my wife’s ‘23 Yukon makes me think the demand must be easing up. Hopefully that’s a good sign for others waiting. FWIW the Tahoe was built in August.View attachment 380883

My build of a Yukon XL Denali Ultimate is sitting at 2051. Was hoping it would move along, but now that I'm hearing about all the constraint items I am not so certain I want it to. If for some reason it came without max tow or adapative Cruise (really wanted Super Cruise) I'll probably just decline to pick it up and pivot back over to another F-150. This ordering process is wild!

I want Super Cruise as well! I've already reserved myself to getting the first Yukon I can find, then telling the dealer to order one with SC and I'll trade as soon as it's available.

I just don't get how we can get comfortable paying 80k for a GM truck and not get all the options we want configured. What is a $50 credit when the premium in the package is $500 or more? Companies like Toyota were able to buy chips in bulk in advance as well as work with their supply chain providers to ensure continuity, and it's sad GM wasn't able to do the same.

All brands are going through the same thing. As a matter of fact, Toyota sales declined almost 20% compared to last year because of the chip shortage. My previous car, a Mercedes, had a missing standard feature as well.

Email from my dealership 8/19/2022 - Got some movement on your Tahoe and should be on the way next week will let you know as soon as I get a delivery day.
(I get the WS and find out the car is in Arlington after being in Midlothian since end of May)

Just when you think you overcame the chip hurdle you get to fall into the shipping hurdle.

I reached out to another dealership in a bigger city about putting in a 2023 order and they took my information. Let's see what happens.

just got an update from my dealer a bit ago and he said my rig is in chicago now, with it still planned to be delivered to the dealer on 10/5. it is heading to ft wayne and then getting trucked to the dealer. so my rig is within a 4 hour drive of me, but i gotta wait a couple of weeks yet. my patience is waning the closer it gets. lol

I’m glad to hear yours has moved after being in midlothian since end of may. Mine has been there since 6/2, so maybe mine will move soon. Still no WS for me. What does your Vin end in? Mine is 31XXXX

This marks 13 months since we ordered, and it has incremented years as new model years are introduced. Order sat for months at 2000 status, then, oops, now it's a 2023 and you get to sit again waiting. We ordered an Escalade this afternoon, the Denali Ultimate is basically the same thing but without the hideous brownish red seats, Escalades are back to black. Now to see what gets here first, the Escalade is only a few thousand more.

Hope both come and you can pick. But the base Escalade doesn’t have the same option as the ultimate. So it’s not really the same. You would need a 120 k Escalade to be close. The Escalade dash is far superior.

Has anyone had any success with having their order picked up for a 2023 Yukon Denali with the diesel?

We ordered 6/26. I called a larger volume dealership yesterday and they said they were easing the constraint on ordering a 3.0 with the Denali trim. Previously they were few and far between. Some time in the last week or so there was a $1705 price increase though, so if we order from them we’ll be locking in a higher price.

On 8/23 I ordered a 2023 Yukon XL Denali diesel. It was picked up by GM a few days later, and was built week of 9/12 and has been in Midlothian since 9/16. As of today, neither the dealer nor GM chat can explain why it is there or when it will be shipped out.
