Luckily in my state we still have station attendants pump your gas, so it doesn’t really work since the screens are pointed at the back of my truck and I just roll up the window and turn up the music.

Better buy while you still can. They aren't bad to swap. I think it took me about two hours. If the front piece starts cracking, the dorman is very nice and like $90 vs $300 for the GM piece.
Think they will become hard to get? Mine is sitting in my cart on GM parts direct right now.
I think they will, yes. The heated steering wheels are already discontinued and I missed out lol. I could totally be wrong though.
They have a revised part number for the ones without the center speaker (not positive when they added that) but of course, I didn't get that one. I had my buddy that works at a body shop use my vin to order. I found out about a year later that they had a revised number. @Rocket Man posted some detailed images showing the difference in the revised number and the original, in his build thread.
There’s a new reinforced design, it’s been out for a few years I believe. When I replaced the one in my Silverado (same part as a Tahoe) I found out there are now 2 part numbers and the old one is out of stock but the new one was available. AFAIK none of the new ones have cracked yet. Don’t ask me for part numbers though, there’s too many due to colors, options with center speaker etc.

No. They make the piece that goes between the dash and the windshield. Can’t remember what that’s called but the GM one is $300. The dash itself is over $600.
