Aren't the factory fog light lenses made for halogen bulbs that put light out 360* around the bulb and not LEDs that only put out light in 1 or 2 directions?

I thought that's why LED bulbs don't work well in stock headlight housings or projector housings

It depends on the bulbs. I’m really happy and impressed with the ones I have in my own housings. High low and fogs.

I have used LED’s in both low and high beam locations on headlights with great results. (Note: not in projectors) This video explains it pretty good. If you look at the reflector design of a headlight it makes sense. I think most of the time that they don’t work good is when they’re not adjusted right.

There are LED projectors but afaik those bulbs and projectors are designed to work together. I haven’t messed with those, just HID projectors.

I would update my headlights to projectors or some 2stroke 3.0 before I dropped that coin in fog lights.

Gonna try the Sealight amber LED bulbs I think.
I just bought some diode dynamics SS3 max for the silverado 3500 lumens, $560 ouch, but there haven't been many options for that truck

shoot I may end up getting some for the yukon too, they might pair up nicely with the morimoto headlights whenever those get here

I really like my Morimoto fogs. I think they were $200 shipped a few years ago.

I like the headlights you have in that pic.
I’ve liked them for the most part, but... the u-bars have gone out in a couple places which looks bad, the projectors aren’t really aimed correctly (they’re kind of a v-pattern), and my high beams are useless. And I realize now that I prefer the general look of OEM housings

I want to stick with my OE housings but use better LED bulbs. In the north I need the heat in the housings so the 2stroke 3.0 is the only way to go and I am unsure if they will fit. That and I have "fishhooks in my pockets" so I hold my cash...

If you think the issue is mostly with your crank polish job, dewit. I mean, or you could just have them polish the crank again. I mean, it's just money at this point...

I would get rid of that high pressure pump though. And for the forged pistons, I think my Camaro has mahle brand. It does have piston slap at first but it's hard to hear over the cam (TSP Texas giant). If you go this route, be aware of that. It's normal

kinda what I'm thinking.
I'm taking this as a learning experience.
Best way to learn is repetition.

I always wanted to do an engine build anyways.
After the second go-around I'll nearly know what I'm doing!

And my vette came with forged pistons, not that i can hear anything over its exhaust anyways.
But I always like to let my crap warm up before driving anyways.

Pluses,
Forged pistons would handle tuning mistakes better
stroker crank will give me more down low power and torque.

Last time i had the pan off, i noticed that the crank walked enough to offset the piston to rod alignment.
Probably not good...

Bads
more money.
I really need the hoe back soon; it's getting annoying having to share a car with my wife.
I have to find a machine shop to do the balance job.
(But I'll probably just use the same one again... not like they are doing the crank polish)
Kit is not in stock (not much in stock), so I'll be waiting and hoping they actually come in stock for the projected timeframe.

Inspect your stuff and see how it looks. I don't think Id spend the money on a stroker kit, personally. Not for a tahoe but then again, who knows.

Contact the machine shop that did the work and explain to them its eating thrust bearings. They should offer (I would hope) to do a better job, if you think thats the problem. If everything else is checking out and the thrust is the only bearing ******* up, seems like thats a good starting point.
