He needs to do like me and spit on the wheel lock and slide the key in. Comes right off!!
Yeah it looks like the key should still work, just might not be as good of a grip with the inside gone. Worst case, use an impact so it doesn’t slip.

So, 1. What’s the part number for the deeper one?Looks like mine!! My keys still works though. Have you tried it ro remove them?? Mine been broken like that due to not being long enough ad as confirmed by McGard. I been meaning to order the longer ones but after breaking like yours they work just fine
I did not TBH.. I was worried about it slipping and damaging the wheel. I’m glad I got it. It’s possible I could have with the key, but the damn thing is so shallow to begin with, I actually was worried about it slipping while I was I was installing, before it broke. Just seems like a crap design to me. Maybe these actually are OEM…!?
I'm with you. Earlier in the year I had the same issue. McGard makes quality wheel lugs and locks. My issue was overall lug length. They referred me to the correct ones when I complained!! After I gave them the part# I bought from Amazon. Which part # did u buy??
These are labeled 2011-2021. I'm sure they are not long enough to accommodate the longer wheel studs on our rigs.
I didn’t realize our rigs had longer studs. When I installed the OEM ‘15 wheels on my ‘03, I also ordered the ‘15 lugs for them. Those have worked perfectly, but I obviously have an issue with the ‘15 locks.. so you’re saying I need a deeper socket for the lock..? I’ll buy that. But does that amount of material (especially considering it’s apparent lack of quality steel) seem sufficient to hold 140 ft lbs..?
I bought part #: 84488348. I still say there’s very little steel to hold that torque, even at the correct length.
I bought McGard 24215 in chrome for my Silverado and 24216 in black for the Denali. They’re listed as 1.965” overall length. Both sets work great.
All i am saying is that the specific set you just used does not list our year trucks under the application chart. Those locks are hitting the top of the wheel stud before seating all the way into the wheel. I dealth with the same issue earlier in the year when Mcgard customer service pointed that out to me. I picked up a set from Amazon with the correct thread pitch but too short, so now im riding around with broken locks like u saw in my picture.

Funny thing is my locks have only broken like that on the front studs. I have Moog wheel Hubs up front. the rear ones are just fine and have yet to break off.
Man I hadn't even considered the design of the wheels affecting lug length.
