Can't find answers I need for amp install

2009 Denali. Front driver side of engine bay, there is an empty spot, looks like a second battery tray. Behind that (closer to firewall) is the main fuse box. Remove the cover and there are two screw posts, both are hot. One is thicker and silver, the other is thinner and painted over it would appear. Can I use the thicker silver one to mount my 4 gauge amp power wire too? I was thinking it was a terminal to attach your second battery, but I want to be sure. Now going inside. I am running a LOC because I am keeping factory HU. Where is the best place to tie in the LOC? Please help if possible. I've been searching the archives and can't find answers to these questions.

Konman09: the two screw post are for your trailer harness(12v-camping trailer), an elec. blake controler. 1. 12v stud on engine side, 2. elec. blake. control stud on fender side. You might find two rolls of wire on either side of the battery for these hook-up. NOTE: this is a set-up on a 2008 tahoe. Good Luck.

Thanks. I just decided to do it right and am going to run straight off the battery. Don't want to fry anything. I just need a longer piece of wire now. Don't have enough, that is why I was trying to jump off something else. I pulled this equipment out of my TBSS, so everything was already cut to fit that. I also found info on the LOC on another website. Used the subwoofer wires under the center console. They work perfectly and I was able to hide the LOC itself right down in there. Mounted the amp under the rear seat and cut the beauty cover out to fit, makes it nice and flush looking for the most part. It was a full days work, but I got it all done and tested and working fine. Will be done as soon as I get that extra piece of wire for under the hood. Thanks again. nds like it is  for accessory battery to me so if it is you should be able to run amp on it did you trace the terminals and see where they go
