A local junk yard had a 50% off everything sale running this weekend. So, I went there and bought everything :) $200 for everything tax included. There were a couple of options for the diff, I picked up the one with the smallest backlashView attachment 349696

Front diff.
Bingo!
Mine is making strange noises, and the last 2 times I changed the fluid in it there were a lot of metal pieces stuck to the magnet. I will install the one from the junk yard, and rebiuld and regear my current to 3.42, so when I finally install my Whipple SC, I will have a gear set up that I want.

Looking for another bit of information. I am looking for a temporary fix on my rusted rocker panels, my plan to get them repaired has to be put off for a year or so due to home repairs that are needed. I am looking for a plastic slip on rocker cover. I found that bushwacker makes them for the silverado but the fitment says negative for the Tahoe. Any help or leads would be helpful, Thanks!

I heard nobody makes them for the Tahoes, just the metal ones that need to be welded in. Maybe others have a different answer though.

@Rocket Man why the angry reaction? Gotta take care of the kids and animals before the truck gets any love (even though I want to be selfish and fix it above all else lol)

I’m angry you couldn’t find the plastic ones and now you have to look at rust for a year. I understand the priorities thing 100%.

Oil change today at 215,430k. About 3-3.5oz in the catch can after a 3,200 mile interval.

Replaced with AC Delco full synthetic, and the Wix extended filter (51522XP). While I was at the shop, told my buddy how she’s been making a clunking noise from the drinker side, front when I go over speed bumps, and a few other times driving (I go very slowly over, but another 1-2 mph, and she clunks…) so we found after the UCA & lower ball joint was done, and I had it aligned, one of the UCA bolts was pretty damn loose. We tightened up all, on both sides to super-gutentight spec, and not only is the clunk gone, but also the squeak under extension in the driver side I’ve been chasing for like 2 years..! Wahoo!
Got home and finally decided to pull the drinker side mirror, as the led arrow went out a while back. This is an aftermarket mirror, so figured it was just a pos.. well, last week, after washing her, the led started working again, so I knew it was corrosion, or some other wiring issue. I tested the light, and determined it was in the connector, then saw the corrosion when I pulled the plug, on the aftermarket side of course.
So I decided to scrape it off with a pick, and clean with QD spray, as I couldn’t really get a wire brush in there. Finished with some dielectric grease, and she’s good to go.

I was pretty proud of myself, and then about 2 miles down the road, it stopped working again. oh well, the replacement was already here, so I swapped it out. It was a better quality part than the previous one anyway. I also managed to crack and break the mirror, pulling it off the second time. Oh well. All set again..

Also discovered today that the “Gorrilla” wheel locks I like a lot don’t really make a lot of contact in / on the wheel, even though they are the correct, conical style. So I went looking for the proper wheel lock set for the ‘15 GMC wheels I have.. part: 84488348 for the GM OEM / GM Performance part. Looked on Summit Racing, and almost dropped the $80 on that, until I saw it wouldn’t ship until mid-November.. Ebay seller has the genuine, new part for $30.37 shipped. Hell yeah! Hopefully it’s the real deal. Any tips how to verify are welcome.

Just copying one of my favorite youtubers, Derek from VGG. The passenger side is the drinker side.
You must have gone back and edited your post because I swear you called one side the drunker side but it’s not there now. Anyway funny stuff.
