Here is a reference line right at the top of the lower wing 1.5" / here it is trimmed, literally 20 minutes total time

After four years of dealing with the front dragging on curbs, and my ramps, I followed your cutting line images today and removed the lower wings on my ‘16 Tahoe.

Used a cutting wheel (OK, two cutting wheels) on my dremel. Cleaned up with a utility knife ( removed melted sticky residue), then cleaned up edge with a sanding wheel.

Thanks for the images.

Is your whole.front cover off ? I believe that makes it easier...hence why most of us, house to trim the stocker down.

No - I've not taken the whole cover off. Is there much involved with that? I was hoping to be able to get to the screw heads without doing that. After closer look that doesn't seem possible. I use mine in the sand a lot. Was trying to get as much clearance as possible while still making it look good.

The lower valence is held on with rivets. If you pull up onto a pair of ramps or similar to lift the front end - I think it's easiest to trim while secured to the truck. Even with the front bumper off you'll be fumbling with the sides or middle trying to flip it unless you clamp it to saw horses (waste of time removing the whole bumper).

What would be wrong with just taking the lower black valance off entirely? It would match up with the rockers behind the front wheel.
