Took the time to change my trans fluid. Super easy to do with some tubing down the fill tube and a cheap harbor freight hand pump. I have a 1000+ mi trip this weekend and I just hit 45k miles. When I get back from the trip I'll drop the pan and change the filter and do a few flushes to get all new fluid in. BUT for now, this will at least do something.

Its little louder on start up and driving up to 50% throttle. But at WOT its same since it would open by its self at WOTAlso if you have CAI, you wont hear exhaust, just fresh air goodness lol. Lont time ago i sad no more modding cars, but here im doing same thing i did to my old 94 5.0 Stang, just this car or suv was $80k, Stang was $5500 all stock when i bought it back in 2002 lol

I think I need to do this. Did you notice much of a difference in sound?

Definitely noticeable on start up and idle, a like Wes and slow5.0 said, a little more growl up to a certain point. I was actually pretty surprised at the difference on my Escalade, subtle but noticeable.

If you have picky neighbors they may start to hate you. I know its not cat back loud but its louder with valve open on cold start

I have a 950hp Camaro that they already dislike. I could throw open headers on the Tahoe and they’d still be happier with me lol
But good information nonetheless!

Been a while trying to get back in the mod groove but keeping busy with work and several other fronts. Picked up a full set of apliques that install along the side windows. It all started when one of the apliques came loose.

The nut is bonded on and the small clips are basically one time use. I am sure there is a way to repair (better adhesive product) but I don't have the time nor the patience. Picked up new ones, color matched and installed them.

Drove 600 miles through the Arizona desert (122°) towing a trailer full of furniture and other things. I kept an eye on the transmission fluid temp the whole time. Mostly hovered around 187°-192° but going up some steep hills or sitting in traffic in Phoenix it would climb up to 205°-210° and once I started moving again it would cool back down to ~190°. Once I’m back home I think I’m going to remove the thermostat on the transmission because I think that’ll help it run cooler from what I’ve read on here and other forums.

he is referring to keeping OPEN the exhaust flapper valve, this is a pressure controlled flapper that moves under exhaust pressure, helps kill drone on a NON DOD vehicle...

if you have not disabled the DOD you may not wan to perform this mod, it will sound odd when DOD kicks down to 4 cyl
