Working on an '04 Z71 5.3 with headers. I see at least 2 of the plug wires boots are touching the header and melted the lip above the metal heat shield. General concensus from threads i searched recommended stock acdelco but I believe thats whats on there now. What are some other good options?

I highly recommend these no-name custom made ones. I have burned all kinds of wires on my 02 6.0 with a blower and AR longtubes. I tried several brands and used the braided fiberglass shield things but they never lasted. The problem to me was the wires were always too long which caused them to not be centered in the openings between header tubes. These are just the right length, just long enough to go between the coils and the plugs without being too tight.

Your running these now? In the item description it says must have round Delphi-style ignition coil. What does that mean?

I am. Just look at your coils. If they’re square these supposedly won’t work. If the body’s are round they will. They should look like this.

Well I guess I wasn't paying attention that you had 6.0. I got these plug wires and they are about 2-3" too short for my 5.3l. I'm past 30 days for return too but emailed him to see if he'll cut me a break.

I didn’t know the different engine would matter. They’re just listed for an LS based truck engine. Did you try them on the truck or are you just comparing them to your old ones?
