Sometimes it's fun to be on the other side of the equation. I would never intentionally damage anyone's vehicle, but there was a time I had a rusted out CJ with gnarly mudders that I used as a weekend toy. If I went to a parking lot and found one of those parking impaired people who can't get between the lines, I'd deliberately park the rust bucket in the space they encroached on, quite close to their vehicle. I wasn't worried about body damage, and I had no doors to open to enter or exit.

i'm still stuck on the 6.0 idea, watched some youtube vid where some dude does swaps into jeeps, and runs the 6.2 tune.
goes into why and stuff, so i downloaded a 6.0 and 6.2 tune.
sure enough, 6.0 tune is very different from the 5.3 tune.
6.2 tune, is very close...
talks about how lame the 6.0 tune is vs the 6.2 tune, and how well the 6.2 tune works in the 6.0...

Lots of 6's, phew!


i also get the chance to resolve my fk up with the camshaft selection.
didn't have much to choose from, and for some reason i had a hard time finding info.

cost keeps creeping up to that 3k line...

credit card cleared off thanks to the tax return, now i get to get it back up there...

I have a LQ9 6.0 and a slightly bored L9H 6.3, go for the 6.2 if you can. My LQ9 runs awesome in my 06 SD, but it's nothing in comparison to my L9H, stock or modified.

Looking in my fsm, I only get the mention to remove the chrome trim piece when replacing the rear bumper step pad.

for the step pad, it says to use a trim panel removal tool... not very helpful.

Looks like the bumper cover needs to come off.

I tend to park a little further out and pay attention to what I park next to. I look for the people who look like they abuse their vehicles and won’t park next to them. I don’t mind walking an extra minute in fact I see the people still circling looking for a close spot as I walk past them, I’m in the store before they even park.

When I drive my wife’s car, I do the same.

I have been trying to get the seat back reshaped enough for my back to tolerate it, so I have been taking it quite frequently on errands testing my latest mod.

She has a pretty new Toyota Highlander with no dings and no protection, just smooth beer can thin metal on the doors.

She loves that car, so I don’t come back with door dings, no.

I think the biggest contributor is perhaps me being totally insensitive to caring where I park. When I go into a Walmart or Costco parking lot (typically jammed during the hours I tend to be there), I don't spend any time looking for a good place. I just squeeze in as close as I can, probably because I feel kind of invulnerable as anything else. I honestly think when someone does bang a door, it is probably due to it getting away from them, perhaps with hands full and trying to negotiate entry or exit, as anything else.

They are cheap to refinish and unlike the one paintless dent repair job I had done on the rear panel near the fuel filler, involve no fussy metal work. Just a mask, sand and shoot.

This! I try to avoid the obvious areas you’re going to get dings. You never know, some ******* might park next to
You and ding you, out in the isolated areas too, but I’d sure as hell rather take my chances further away from all the commotion..! If it’s a store I frequent, I have 2-3 spots I pretty much always park. If it’s somewhere new, I’m generally driving around a bit, scoping the best location.. I don’t gaf if it’s a walk. Good exercise. [emoji16][emoji106]

He did a pretty good job explaining it.
and me doing the compare supports what he is saying.
that 6.0 tune looks real mild.
I set up a tune already copying all of the fueling related crap.
Left the timing related stuff alone for now, i'm not sure if the 6.2's have different heads or not.
Some transmission stuff looks a bit more aggressive as well, so i might copy those over as my new base file and then tweak the trans from there.
