The snap ring was already installed on the new condenser that I bought from GM. I drove about 3 miles while the trans. fluid was being pumped out. Put new fluid in. Trans seems OK.

it's happened to me, luckily I saw all the smoke in my mirror and had just enough time to pull off the freeway and into a parking lot before all the fluid came out it was just starting to slip as I pulled into a stall. Dealer had serviced it the day before, they copped to it, towed it and filled it back up.

Some cosmetic improvement today. Not sure why the pad looked so nasty (never had them like that in any of our GMT900s) but it’s nasty no more.

I just cut the wire loom holders that attach to the pad. Otherwise would’ve needed to remove the bumper and I wasn’t going to go there. Loom seems pretty nice and snug there as is, so I don’t foresee any issues. Was able to reuse the ones on the ends anyway, so they’ll hold it up too.

they all get like that it's plastic and subjected to sunlight, rain, mud, dirt, heat, cold, ice. gets stepped on and scraped from loading and unloading stuff, just a wear item. there is plastic conditioner you can use to shine it up but that only last's so long also.

Yup. My question was more rhetorical in nature. Haha! Texas sun definitely doesn’t help.

But maybe GM also cheaped out on the material on these since none of our GMT900s ever were that bad.

Anyway... Good to go now. Replacement was a GM part, so we’ll see how long that’ll last.

KYB Gas-a-just rear shocks installed today to match the front struts PO had put on a couple of months ago.

Passenger side was somewhat a PITA. I don’t get why they couldn’t put the threads on the bracket instead of using bolt and a nut. Or at least welded a nut on the bracket. Access is stupid limited on both sides.

Wasn’t too bad, but still need to complain. :p

Took it for a test drive and while on the highway I finally got around recording logs for DiabLew tune. Hope to get the tune from Lew some time next week.

Does your Burb have the ZW7 suspension? If so you had the Nivomat self-leveling rear shocks. I had those on a Durango once and when I swapped them out for regular "off the shelf" shocks I lost about an inch of ride height in the rear.

On GM trucks with the Nivomats (ZW7 suspension) they recommend that if you replace the Nivomats with off the shelf regular shocks that you also swap out the rear springs with taller/stiffer ones to compensate for the loss in ride height.

Did you lose any altitude in the back with the KYB's?

Got ZW7 and ass end still where it was earlier. No adverse effects whatsoever so far. Rides better than before. No bouncing around or anything like that that softer springs might indicate.

If something does come up at some point and work is needed in the rear, I’ll redo the whole thing with Rancho QuickLifts in the front and something else in the rear to level it.

For now the KYBs it is.

Huh, ok. Just curious. Good to know - that experience might save someone some serious coin. I've always been told Nivomats must be replaced with Nivomats. I didn't believe it either and wasted time and money finding out the hard way. I guess the Durango must be different.

Not really sure how those shocks are self-levelling since there are no sensors attached to them. Haven’t investigated the system at all. Shocks looked just like your normal shocks as seen in the pic I posted.

If they were Magnaride, that would be whole nother ballgame.

The only self-levelling stuff I’ve ever worked on have been either hydraylically (old MBs) or air (Ford) operated.

not sure what all was changed, but i do love the output. i have them adjusted up slightly to illuminate farther ahead...and it must be just right. it appears high when viewing, but not a single car flashed us during the trip.

i do know this, the 3.0 is advertised as being adjustable by war of turning the bulb after install...i have not been able to make that happen, unless it is a super tight adjustment and i didnt feel the need. when viewing head on, the bulbs are identical in output and the cut off line is dead flat.

This site explains it pretty well. They look just like regular shocks and are completely self-contained. Neat tech...until you have to replace 'em.

what did you do for / to locate a switch for the additional lights ?
Rigid industries provides a wiring harness with a small switch. I ran the wires through the rubber grommet in the firewall into the cab of the Tahoe and connected the switch. Right now I just have the switch zip tied under the dash near the hood release lever but once I can get my hands on a dremel I will install the switch in the dash just below the factory light switches

@Tahoe_Rx Do you have a link to the kit and setup you went with? I'd love to check that out. Thanks.
I ordered brackets from KD fabworks, their customer service was great and the responded promptly to all of my questions. Here is the link http://www.kdfabworks.com/2015-2019-Chevy-TahoeSuburban-Dual-Light-Mount_p_548.html

you can choose whether you plan to mount 1 or 2 lights and if you will be using rigid industries lights or Baja designs.
when you order the rigid industries lights they come with all the required wiring harnesses etc.
I did order an H16 to deutch adapter on Amazon to wire the sae/dot fogs directly to my factory fog light wiring. I did have to sand one of the tabs off of the adapter as our tahoes have PSX26 fog bulbs/connectors which is slightly different than H16/PSX24. But it took me 30 seconds with a small file on my leatherman. I will attach a picture of the adapter below.

Ordered a set of H11 Morimoto 2stroke 3.0s. I'm really not a huge fan of putting LEDs into factory housing, but guess I'll try and see how they look like. Had them in wife's previous (2010 Tahoe) one and I got them pretty well situated so they didn't scatter and blind others too bad.

I also finally have all the stuff to do the fog light/tow hook conversion, just kind a been busy to have gotten to it. And the damn weather's also been kind of crappy every weekend since the beginning of January. Might actually need to consider LEDs also for the fogs while I'm in there.

you wont be disappointed in the 3.0's...being in a projector rather than a traditional halogen housing is far different than the previous models, i have mine adjusted UP slightly after install...have not had a single driver flash me yet, and recently did a 1600 mile trip.20201201_183322.jpg 20201225_052719.jpg
