Here are the pages from the manual, but it doesn’t say much. Maybe it will help.

A hood release cable should not need adjusted. While it can stretch a little simply because it is a cable, it typically does not need any adjustment but should just be replaced. The cable is routed as per the pics in previous post. If an attaching point for the cable breaks than it can appear to be out of adjustment. Maybe the hood release itself needs checked and lubed as needed.

What particular problem are you having?

When I pull the hood release the hood doesn't pop up until I reach out and hit the top of the hood with my hand. Kinda like Fonzi and the juke box on Happy Days . Lol. And recently the plastic release handle broke and I installed a new handle and now I have to really smack the hood for it to open.. I know I probably have to adj. The hood catch assembly but I was just looking for some help and knowledge on this procedure. Thanx for your time

I have seen this scenario many times over the years in my shops and it always ended up being a cable replacement but some times you can get lucky and with the hood open you can have someone pull the cable release and watch the hood latch. It could be a simple adjustment and lube at the latch itself. Lube it up and try again. If no luck, see if the latch assembly can be moved either up and down or side to side. Sometimes it is also related to the hood stops that can be turned to tighten or loosen the tension when the hood is down and latched. They are the usually round stops that are at the corners of the hood when it is closed.
