Hello there!

As of this morning my 2002 Tahoe suddenly refused to start on the first try. I really had to turn the ignition several times. I have made a video of it. Does anyone recognize this? I have a feeling it's the battery..

Thanks!

Bet it is too. How old is the battery?

That kind of happened to me one time and I was able to turn the positive cable tighter by twisting the cable itself and it fired up. Lost my radio stations and my clock and had to reset. I got home and took cables off and cleaned all surfaces and tightened down and been fine ever since.

As far as I know, the battery has never been replaced before..

Start there and clean/inspect the cable ends for corrosion and condition. May have corrosion under the plastic/rubber covering that causes the cable to swell.

Get another battery just like that one. In another 18 years you'll have to change it again, though.

EDIT: Seriously, many batteries have a manufacturing month and year somewhere on them, if you can still read it. That might give you a clue as to how old it is. Either way, it would be best to find someplace that can load test it.
