Chrome wheels- to polish or not to polish

Are factory chrome wheels. (Off a high county) polishable??? Or are they cleared( spray cleaner only). I'm getting differing accounts? Thanks in advance.

A body detailer recommended that I use Meguiar's Hot Rims Wheel and Tire cleaner, and I am very happy with it on my chrome rims.

not sure I understand.. Chrome is chrome.. can clean it with windex and throw some chrome polish on it..

polished is different and most likely clear coated from the factory, which is why they tend to look like ass

Aftermarket. Nothing sets off a ride like that bling on the wheels. It should be a sin to paint a set of polished wheels black.

Folks have different tastes and preferences on what is best for them, which is good, and why there are so many different options available for folks to choose from. I do, however, like the look of chrome, as well.

When you say you want to "polish" your chrome wheels, what exactly do you mean? Because they are chrome, you wouldn't be able to "polish" them like you would a billet or aluminum wheels.
My recommendation is to use 0000 or 00000 steel wool to clean them, then use a Mothers or Meguire's chrome polish (spray on and wipe off). You can put a coat of wax on them and then wipe them down with glass cleaner. That should take any and all "junk" off that normal washing doesn't remove.
