I'm trying to order the correct replacement for my new to me 1997 GMC Yukon four door, no rear AC. Amazon sent the wrong part and the Acdelco part 15-1739 amazon sells sais it won't fit. Can anyone tell me the correct part number to order? Thanks

There are two versions AFAIK.
RockAuto lists 151784
4 door; Rear Auxiliary A/C (C69)
and
151739
A/C - Manual Temperature Controls (C60); EXCEPT Rear Auxiliary A/C (C69)

I do not have rear AC in this Yukon. I have an orifice tube. Would I have the thermostatic expansion valve as well? The Acdelco part listed talks about a TEV.

Both the thermo expansion valve listings by AC Delco had to do with you having a rear a/c unit which you said you did not.

Last eighth digit of VIN are VJ746423. I went to an auto parts store and the item they ordered is just like the one I got from Spectra. Still the wrong part. The parts guy is telling me it's a cartridge and i need to open my canister and install it. My canister is an aluminum welded item. Not sure he's right.

You would use the Delco 15-1739 (see 96’s and PNW’s response a few posts up.)
