Some of these specs remind me of the first years of the GMT900s. Some configurations were much lower than later years even though there were no noticeable changes.

My 18 RWD 5.3 Suburban window sticker says 16 and 23. So the new ones will get 3 mpg highway less than mine? That's a disgrace right there.

Our 2019 with 7k miles is right at 22 mpg average since new. I've done manual MPG calcs and the readout is pretty accurate. Lots of highway miles with this.

I mean that's great what real world fuel economy you're able to achieve but still the figures are 3 mpg less than the previous gen? Who does that? Going back to 2005 apparently.

I've read that the new T1s weigh less than the K2s they replace but they are much larger vehicles, longer and with more frontal area. They were also designed for the times, gas prices have come down (Not including Wuhan Flu).

Just down to 24 gallons in the Tahoe. I don't have a problem with that in the Tahoe but prefer the 26 gallons. I generally fill up when I get to 120 miles to empty.

That's what they did with the pickups. GM sizes the tanks to meet a certain range goal, the motors were or are supposed to deliver better economy than their predecessors. Maybe there are some new engines not yet released that will do this?

Maybe, but I love getting 500 miles of range on the highway. I don’t know all the considerations but larger tanks are a plus for me.
