High mount brake light 02 tahoe lt

Hi all , my first post here.

My high mount brake light went kaput , so I've been googling around looking for a replacement bulb. Unfortunately nothing's coming up in the way of a bulb. Just the entire brake light assy. Is that my only option.

Yup. It's a sealed unit--non replaceable bulbs. You can find them pretty cheap tho, lots of different options too. You can get smoked, clear, red of course and really dark.

The quality of the cheaper of the aftermarket high mount stop lights is questionable sometimes. I heard of some only getting about 2-3 years before they fail. I got the ACDelco one even though it cost more. I believe it is an LED light.

Yeah LED is all that comes up at the various sites I've searched so far. All my tail & headlights are halogen.
