Replaced lower intake manifold gaskets.
New plugs
New wires
New distributor

i failed the distributor re-install. It was running, had the P1345 code and tried adjusting distributor some more. I only ran it about 2 mins at a time.
Stalled out after adjusting.

Pulled distributor and tried to start over on the setting and broke the plastic. New distributor in, no spark at coil or wires. 55psi fuel pressure. New coil didn’t fix it.

Ideas? And TIA

did you check and make sure you didn't accidentally disconnect something?

Out of the frying pan and in to the fire. This problematic rig gets better and better. Did the new distributor come with a new module? Did it have a new cap and rotor? Check the pickup coil to make sure there is not a broken wire. Been a while so did I not suggest you check the timing marks again, in the other thread? Off a tooth will not effect the spark you don't have but will effect the way it runs when you do start it. I think we also said to take a vacuum reading, if I remember correctly? I know, I know, you need to get it running again to take a vacuum reading but still, you need some tests so you can tear down to check timing marks.

Different thread I think. I had the coolant leak that turned into a shower. so i did the lower manifold gaskets. Dropped in a spider and new fuel pressure regulator, plugs and wires, cap and rotor.
Now a new coil and entire distributor (at least it’s aluminum housing).
Confirmed correct TDC with new distributor install. I tapped the darn piston with a tie wrap through the plug hole.

Oil pressure goes up when cranking and fuel pressure holds solid over 50 with truck off. Fuel pressure does fluctuate while starting but stays over 50 I believe.

Troubleshooting:
Replaced coil same issue, no change in sound. signal tests correctly from harness.
Tested crank position sensor plug and the harness signal tests out

What would keep the coil from throwing spark? What signal does it need and from what? ICM?

Check the ICM and retrace any grounds you may have disconnected. Is the distributor reinstalled correctly now? If it is, it should at least start. Do you have power to the coil? Power to the ICM?

But the piston can be at the top on the exhaust stroke instead of the compression stroke. Do the finger on the hole to verify the compression stroke. Then make sure the rotor is pointing at #1 cylinder. On the exhaust stroke the piston, #1< will be at the top but the exhaust valve would be open and therefore no compression.

I will double check power again shortly but all harness and module connections tested out last night.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but when cranking the crank sensor and ICM tell the coil when to fire?

No spark, any wire. Lotsa gas and wide open air.
