That high mileage 2010 Yukon XL 4x4 with the 6.2 is still for sale, down to $11K.

As for the 6.2 Tahoe, I've located 532 4x4s and 136 RWD LTZs and 1 4x4 LS for 2009. Found 49 2008 LTZ 6.2 Tahoes, all RWD.

Are these all for sale at this time? I thought those were total build numbers.

Would I have to find a 6.2 Tahoe to get the 8200 pound towing capacity? I’d imagine it would be easier to find a Yukon Denali with that motor but I bet prices are higher for them.

No, a 5.3 tahoe with k5l will get you the 8200 and and a 6.2 denali with tow pkg you will lose a few hundred pounds... i know it sounds strange but true.

Has to do with extra options, tire size and extra weight associated with denali trim. The lighter and cooler you can make the truck the more tow capacity you gain.... all be it a few hundred lbs.

It makes sense. The Denalis are AWD. My guess would be it has something to do with that. So as long as I find a 5.3 with the K5L RPO, I should have 8200 pounds of towing capacity. I’d imagine any K5L equipped vehicle would also have 3.42s probably automatically.

Awesome. Thank you guys for the help. Now I’m on the lookout for a K5L Tahoe in Chicagoland.

Don’t limit your search to just Chicagoland area. You may need to look in much larger region, particularly if you are looking for a specific configuration. I went out 500 miles in my search for the last two Yukon’s I purchased.

Good call. I’ll widen my search area and hopefully be able to find something decent at a reasonable price.

Good looking out. My dad grew up in Oak Lawn, where that’s supposedly located. I’ll have to check that out. It’s substantially less than I was thinking about spending and looks great! This should be good to haul around my 6000 pound camper when I’m not using my 3/4 ton truck, right?
