So bear with me this is going to be a project.

I started off with the normal bolt ons and blackbear tune for my 2016 Tahoe LTZ 5.3. This was good but not enough.

Then i got a great deal on a TVS2300 Edelbrock supercharger. WOW fantastic. But now I have the bug...

So this led to me acquiring a low mileage L86 from a wreck with the intent to do a swap and call it a day. As I dove into the 6.2 and was deciding what to upgrade is when things started going off the rails.

-Got some LT4 Injectors (still looking for a good deal on a LT4 pump)
-Already have a ported Weapon X LT1 Throttle Body
-Corsa Cat Back Exhaust
-AFE Momentum GT Intake
-Every part of the L86 is replaced or upgraded

Delivered today were the guts of my 416 build...

-Ported & Polished LT1 Heads with TSP dual spring kit and CHE Trunion kit.
-TSP Stage 1 Cam +32% Fuel Lobe
-C5R Timing Chain
-TSP H-Beam Rods
-Mahle 4.07 Pistons
-TSP Stroked 4" Crank
-DOD Delete Kit
-TSP DOD Delete Cover
-LS7 Lifters
-ARP Everything.

Im working with a machine shop to set up an appointment now that everything is here.

Still Need:
-Headers
-Exhaust

I don't know what I'm going to do at this point honestly since this has evolved further than I planned.
I don't know if this is for sure going to go in the Tahoe. It might just be too much. If I can find a C7 with no engine I may just go that route and then beef up the 5.3.

Either way this should be fun!

I would love ideas and input since i've kind of painted myself into a corner.

dont see many people diving into high hp builds with the edelbrock superchargers.... i think the intake design uses longer runners than most of the other tvs2300 rotor s/c (maggy/slp) but havent seen anyone pulley them down and over spin them, maybe see if anyone will throw a port job on it?

I would put headers and exhaust on the hoe and walk away. Get the C7 and start the build.

Yeah stay away from them. The design is needlessly complicated compared to the regular Maggies. A good upgrade but a whipple would be better for this project.

Of course you'd be faster in a Vette but blowing away vettes in a truck would be more fun. I can't tell you how many times we heard, "Man, I can't believe I got beat by a car!" or something to that affect with our Buicks against motorcycles.

Might as well beef up the transmission and put in the 9.5 14-bolt rear, it's stronger than the 12-bolt you have now, either of them.

I'd also recommend spending some time on an engine dyno before installing that monster in your truck; to maximize performance and work out any bugs. That's a lot of changes to make at once. Makes it hard to tell what worked and what didn't work and what hurt performance.

Yeah already talking to circle d about getting the 6l80 worked over. Also researching doing an 8l90 swap (future project). The shop I’m working with does have access to an engine dyno and I was honestly thinking the same thing. I’m in no rush so I want to do this right the first time.
