Hey guys, I got a 2010 4wd tahoe and I've been looking around for a good handheld tuner that can disable the following:
- AFM
- Traction Control
- Stabilitrak
- Throttle Delay

I've heard of some tuners that can also check codes the PCM throws out. So that would be a plus if it came integrated with it. I wanted to ask you guys from personal experience what handheld tuner can do all this and give me some other optional tunes like economy or to bring it back to stock.

My wife mainly uses the tahoe for daily comutes. I use it on weekends when we go to the desert or cruise around town. The reason I want the tuner is mainly for weekends, to do burn outs, donuts or just mess around in the desert and then bring it back to stock or econ mode for my wife.

I've read up on the threads about the Diablo tuner and the Black Bear but don't know which on is better or offers what i need.

The Diablo can disable AFM and you can even adjust Throttle response but to my knowledge traction control and Stabilitrac cannot be disabled via any tune no matter who does it.

Diablo or BBP (EFI live, HP tuners, etc.) Cannot do this.

The only way to truly disable TC and Stabilitrac is by pulling the ABS fuse, which is what most off roader do. You can actually wire a switch inline to the ABS fuse so that you can disable it without having to get out and pop the hood and pull the fuse manually.

I am a relative novice at this, compared to most folks on this Forum, so you will get more informed advice from these other folks than from me. However, with my Black Bear tunes with the AutoCal tuning device, I can re-flash my ECM and TCM between different tunes (stock or performance, with towing and economy also available) in less than 10 minutes.

I have a Diablo trinity t1000 tuner I am selling. I used it on my 2007 suburban to turn off AFM, but I have since sold my suburban and no long have a need for the tuner. I have contacted diablo and had the software license renewed to be programmed to another truck. Asking $250 OBO + shipping if interested.

This should work fine on a 2011 LTZ right? If so, and still available I will do $200.

After reading through some different reviews and doing my own homework, I found this was going to do what I was looking for and was in my price range.

That's what I have. I used it on my 2011, then on my 2012 after the 2011 was totalled.

It has the ability to take a custom Diablo tune file and upload to it from a PC to load into the vehicle. It can also record/datalog parameters into a file that you can pull off with a PC

Ran about a little over a hundred miles now with the 2012 Yukon tuned with the Diablo Intune. I tuned it too 91 octane (i run a non-ethanol 91 gas) and shut off Active fuel management. Seeing a increase in fuel mileage on the short term so far! No more switching into 4 cylinder mode. freaking great! Glad i listened and got this done.

Just FYI... it takes about 100-150 miles for the fuel trims and such to settle in.

When you have a custom tune done by Lew (Diablew) he tells you to drive it about 150 miles, to let the fuel trims settle, before logging and sending him the next log file for tweaking.
