Only other thing I could think of is, if somewhere down the line, the PCM was reflashed to give earlier oil change reminders. Just spitballing info here... I know with some vehicles, you can adjust this, but I don't know how these 'hoes handle such a command.

Barring that, I'm at a loss. The OLM systems on these are algorithmic, there's no oil condition sensor to be tossing you these sort of issues. You'd need a good scan tool to go any further.

Keep me posted would you? I'm rather curious what you find
Which vehicles would that be?

Maybe digging around with a tech 2 would reveal some clues. Weird for sure.

Wouldn't any codes have been solved by disconnecting the battery?

OP, curious does your odometer show 516K miles on it? Curious if this is something programmed in, where you have such high mileage that this just starts happening.

This program was written in for these vehicles based off of where automotive technology was 20 years ago, on a new engine design for a new body style.

I'm a bit curious as well. I think we can rule out the PCM reflash. 2 trips ago, it reset to 100% just like normal. And since then the only time they plugged into the computer port was to learn new TPMS senders, and that was after it started the downfall.

I think I said it here but I hanve't looked back, my trouble shooting mind is making me think it's something like a CMOS battery giving up the ghost.
Oh and I probably haven't mentioned I'm a radio engineer, and have been doing component level troubleshooting and repair for around 40 years on all sorts of electronic systems.

Oh wait I see now there's a page 4, let me go see if anyone had an answer on the last page.

Actually 517K now.. One interesting note, that is likely not related, the engine hours has reset on it's own twice.. Now I tried to find a way to reset it when the engine was replaced, but no luck.. then randomly one day it just reset. It's done that once somewhere around 200K and then again around 400K (no not dead on 200 or 400) .

When it gets down to resetting to 0% then we might figure out the cause. At the rate it's going I expect it to only reset to about 20% next time.

Lol.
Side note :
Are you sure about the pedal thing? My 06 Z71 all I do is hold the enter button for 5-10 seconds and it reads "reset oil life" . Press enter again to confirm. Weird that they would differ...
Mine does the same thing put er in run and mash the pedal a few times
