Tahoe pees when I close door

Okay, I know description sounds wild but is only way to describe it. I googled and searched her but cannot find any satisfying answers.

Here's what happens. I do have a sun roof but is RTV sealed shut for now. I reached hands up and gutters have no water in them.

I open the door, then close it... A sprinkling of water comes out from in front of the firewall, just inside the engine compartment by the passenger side front wheel well.

I'm assuming something with evap coil not draining but unsure. I switched the cabin air from recirculate to outside air. It seems to pee less but still pees.

I'm not 100% sure where to go next. Is there a drain of sorts for the evap coil?

Not sure I agree with that. Any moisture from the either the sunroof or AC systems should drain out. If there's enough humidity in the air it's making the interior drip, I think it might be worth putting a desiccant in the vehicle. I keep one in mine but that's because it'll sometimes sit for a week or 2 and I don't want it getting stagnant

Edit I'm an idiot. I misread and thought OP had water in the interior.


Drippings on the exterior are fine. Cars have high and low spots, water settles. The movement from you getting in is enough to allow the water to trickle down

Provided it's water and not any of your vehicle's fluids, ain't no thang

Ah gotchya, thanks much for sharing. I found the drains for the AC evap coils. I blew them out with compressed air to make sure they were not clogged. Hopefully that is all it was...

The decadent is a great idea. In the north I crumpled up newspapers and put them in the car. You can add a bit of vinegar to some of them and put them in a bucket... it will help cleanse the air in a musty car.

However, I'm in Arizona in the middle of the desert No problems with that here. However, dried out trim yes :/

I'm guessing a low point in the evaporator condensate drain line. When you shut the door it causes a momentary high-pressure inside the vehicle and that drain line is one of the "passages" to the outside. The high-pressure in the cabin pushes a small amount of water out the line and trickles onto the floor...

That's just an educated guess though.
