Doors automatically lock when vehicle starts

I have an 05 tahoe. I know how to work vehicle settings. I currently have it to lock with speed and unlock in park. The problem is when I put the key in to on or start it, all in park, the vehicle locks. I was looking for some sort of reset or recalibration. I run the risk when my wife occasionally drives it or loan to a friend, they open the door, turn it on and blast ac to cool it down, but shut the door and it locks, with them outside of course. Any remedy? Thanks

Any chance you programmed the locks with a different key in the ignition? I don't know if the lock settings are key-dependent (as are the memory seat and side mirror positions), but it's all that comes to mind. Any chance there's an aftermarket alarm or anything on it that may be overriding the locks?

There's not really any programming, you cycle through settings on the steering wheel. As far as after market I had one out on since day 1 but can't remember how far back this issue goes. I will try and Google my alarm to see. Thanks

Actually, with the key in the ignition there is a safety feature that prevents locking of doors(drivers at least) so this exact thing doesn’t happen.... if you have a manual look it up....delay door lock or something
