Hey guys, I have an 05 Yukon and it started stuttering today and wouldn’t wouldn’t take any throttle without bogging down, I babied it and got it about a mile away from my buddies and it gave up on me, I towed it to his driveway and went back later on in the night night and it started no issue, until it got about halfway to temp, then it would sputter under any load, and would idle ok but surge every 30 seconds. I checked wires, I have to get ahold of a code reader tomorrow but does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Fuel pump was done almost a year ago, anything would help, thankyou guys!

Fuel pump would be my guess.
I second this! Autozone, free tool rental. My AZ store has a universal fuel pressure test kit. It has several adapters and a fairly long hose. When I was having problems I was able to route the hose up under the hook and lay it on my windshield so I could watch it while driving. Turned out my problem wasn't fuel pump but its way too easy; check that first.

Would a fuel pump run fine u til warmed up? It will rev and roar until it reaches about halfway to temp then it just starts running horribly, I checked if there was pressure when it was running but didn’t have a guage so I’m not sure. I will get a pressure gauge and see hopefully today

It's definitely possible...

That being said, I re-read your op... I once had a MAF (on my Buick) have problems only when hot. Driving down the road it would just go into a fit of stuttering and no power, would idle fine. Shutting it off and letting it cool down would buy me another 4 minutes or so of driving. I once babied it home by hammering down, then shutting it off in neutral to coast, then fire it back up to get back up to speed and coast again...

Even more simple than the fuel pressure gauge is to just unplug the MAF. Your engine won't run at peak performance without the MAF connected but it will stop any faulty readings that are causing the sputter issue. So, next time it happens pull over, leave it running, unplug MAF and get back in and drive for a while...

Mine was a fuel pump. Would happen after driving for >2 hours and get progressively worse. Was a real pain to track down due to how intermittent it was

Spitballing things to check: Oxygen sensor - when system goes to closed loop, MAF - same reason as oxygen sensor, Vaccuum leaks - self explanatory, will manifest itself in strange ways sometimes, fuel pressure - these trucks are very particular about it, exhaust leaks - oxygen entering the exhaust system upstream of the oxygen sensor will throw off its readings

we had a Silverado that was the fuel pressure regulator made it run very sketchy.

Thankyou for the answers to everyone! I unplugged the MAF and it helped at first it seemed but not when it warmed up. It gets about halfway to temp and then it will die under any load, and once it dies, will not start until cold again. I went maybe two miles and i had to have my buddy tow me the rest of the way. I don’t even know where to begin, there are so many things that can cause it
