Just purchased a 2002 Tahoe yesterday. Haven't picked it up yet or even driven it . Hopefully it will give me many years of trouble free use.

Welcome from Miami Beach Greg!! As long as it was serviced regularly you should be good to go. Hopefully you got some service records with it.

Yes did receive some records. 2 owners. Did find out the hard way that the fuel gauge is inaccurate. Showing just above a quarter tank , parked on a slight down grade, wou would start. Added 5 gallons of gas meant for the lawnmower and it started right up. What a way to begin my ownership of a Chevy after 29 years of Ford trucks.

how much of a slight downgrade? my profile photo shows mine (pretty slight) yet can make my reading off by about an 1/8 maybe a little more, has it been lowered? that can affect the tank as well, just a 2' drop on my Silverado and now it gives no warning when it gets low, before the drop it would stutter on acceleration giving you a chance to get to a station now it doesn't so if the gas light comes on you better find a station quick, lol

It hasn't been lowered to my knowledge and the down grade is probably 3 to 4 inches lower in the front. Probably I will just get used to keeping the tank more than half full.
