The rest of the control panel works ok, controls where the air goes, what turns on, etc. Fan control does not respond at all. Fan is stuck on high. Fan continues to run on high even with ignition off. Had to pull 40amp fuse for blower motor in under hood fuse panel to get it to quit. Ideas of where to start?

Edit: Although my sig shows a 2005 suburban (which is correct) this is a 2005 Escalade that I drive for work, and is company owned. It is built 9/2004 if that information is important. The Suburban is built the same month.

most likely culprit is the blower motor resistor, it's the most common problem, you can order one online or most autoparts store stock them, easy fix, you just need a 7 or 8mm socket to remove the kick panel on the passenger side under the glove box, youtube has plenty of "how to" videos.

7mm to drop panel and 5.5mm to undo the resistor. I would recommend a new resistor with harness. I just got this one and it works as designed.

I like that its color coded to factory and affordable.

Thanks. I "borrowed" the one from my suburban to confirm diagnosis (same part number). Sure enough. The part in both cars is made by Carter Group and has 9643 on it. It has a 3 prong input. I discovered that I could only get this (not a carter, but same connections and crossreferences for part number) on Amazon. Rockauto, Oreilly and Autozone do not have a direct fitment. I think that's pretty weird but anyways, part will be here tomorrow.
