I am having the issue where i can't fill the fuel tank (other than extremely slowly). I tried changing the evap solenoid, no improvement, old one seemed clean and bench tested fine. I have a canister on the way, but i don't know if that will fix it or not. There were a lot of pellets spilling out of it when i removed it. I'm worried these may have got to the other end of the lines above the tank and plugged it up.

Can i drive with the solenoid and cansiter removed? I think if i can fill up normally without it, id know it was my problem; otherwise I guess i'll have to pull tha tank.

Does anyone know what the little rubber line that has a what looks like a stopper on the that runs up near the filler neck but doesn't connect to anything do/for? It had a small tear, which i fixed, no improvement. Only code has been p0455 evap leak and the tighten gas cap message. Erased the code, hasn't come back yet, but can't fill still.

Ideally, it would be nice to throw all that stuff in the garbage and turn it all off in the tune. It's worthless and a pain. Isn't that little line the vent? It's got to be clear.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
 Inspect for a loose, missing, damaged, or incorrect fuel fill cap.
 Inspect for a damaged fuel filler neck seal surface.
 A blockage or restriction in the EVAP purge solenoid valve, purge pipe, EVAP canister, or vapor pipe,
can cause this DTC to set.
 The EVAP system can be filled with smoke more quickly and completely by opening the system opposite
the end where the smoke is injected. For example, when injecting smoke at the service port remove the
fuel fill cap, or temporarily leave the vent open, until smoke is observed, then close the system and
continue testing. If using a fuel cap adapter at the filler neck, use the J 41413-VLV at the service port to
allow the system to fill faster. See Special Tools .
 To help locate intermittent leaks using the J 41413-200 , move all EVAP components while observing
smoke with the J 41413-SPT . See Special Tools .
 Individual components can be isolated and tested using adapters in the J 41413-300 .
 A condition may exist where a leak in the EVAP system only exists under a vacuum condition. This type
of leak may be detected by using the scan tool Purge/Seal function to create a vacuum in the EVAP
system and then observe the FTP parameter for vacuum decay.

Smoke test and Tech2 would be good to command the valves open and closed to make sure they work.

if you look on youtube there is a hose you can disconnect to solve the problem temporarily, you will be able to fill it fine, but the light will be on and you probably wont pass any inspection until it gets fixed, it's not hard to just replace the canister and solenoid when you are able to. there is also a 2nd related solenoid on the intake that should probably be replaced at the same time.

the small rubber line is probably for the air pump if you have the autoride (airshocks)

Yeah the purge valve under the hood had pellets wedged in it. I believe I now have that line clear. The solenoid seemed to work when I applied 12 v. Shot some air in the bigger line (goes to the tank I think) and pellets flew out. Figured I had nothing g to lose, if I have to drop the tank after that I'll ha r to do that. Will try again when the cannisters arrives

Well blew lines out best I could - I didn't remove the tank, figured wth, so I blew air out to the line that goes to the tank a few times and it rained pellets. Finally it stopped doing g that, so I put the new canister on and I was able fuel up fine. Is there a screen or filter that would keep these pellets from getting in the tank or ugging the fuel pump etc? Now I'm worried about that - guess I'll stay close to home for a while lol

I believe those lines get full of pellets when folks attempt to fill past the clicks of the pump.

Still that and the fact that they are a consumable item. If moisture gets in canister, the carbon swells and becomes porous and breaks down into small pellets that clog the line.

I understand why it happens - maybe the previous owner topped off the tank alot who knows- but will they now clog the fuel pump or filter?

Its a possibility that it may cause a restriction at the filter if all the pellets concentrated on the filter itself. Sediments settle at the bottom of the tank and should only cause and issue at low fuel levels, but at this point, its speculation, so def keep and eye on it.
