I'm looking at purchasing a 2013 Yukon XL Denali in a couple weeks. One of my first priorities will be to disable the AFM, but I'm looking at some options for scan tools as well, as I do almost all of my own maintenance.

According to this link, the Tech2 _should_ work on the 2013, but wondering if anyone out there can confirm.

I also have my eye on the Autel MK808, which I realize is a more generic scanner, but still appears very capable. Anyone used this scanner on their Suburban or Yukon XL?

Huh?

A bunch of us have Tech2s and they are great time and money savers. You cannot turn off the AFM system with it; that would have to be done through a tune. If memory serves, yes, it will work on a 2013. Should also work on the 2014 SUV too but have yet to confirm.

I turned mine off with HP tuners but before I got that I tried with the tech 2 and I can't remember if I was turning off AFM or dod. It was probably dod. But t didn't stay off.

Thanks! I was planning to do the BB route for disabling AFM. Just debating on which scanner at the moment. Tech2 is definitely best for these vehicles, just trying to decide if I want "best for this vehicle" or "will work with all my vehicles and provide a common SW interface".

I ended up ordering the Tech2. Found out the MK808 isn't bi-directional, bigger brother the DS808 has that feature, but is nearly $300 more. If money was no object, I'd get the MS908P. However, that is not the case lol.

I sent them a message and their response was it is pending until i designate the language format, ok i did that and now they are saying it hasnt been proven to work on GMC 2008?

Any advice?

As long as you are getting the software 33.004 you'll be fine. Got a link to the ad?
