It sounds like the oil change didn’t help, like you assumed it wouldn’t. There’s definitely some abnormal clatter still.

Time for some DI cleaning. Also try to stick a full tank of premium gas in there once or twice from chevron or shell. Its possible it’s last fill up before you got it was some cheap low grade gas and at this mileage, it could really piss it off causing a slightly abnormal tick.

That is still too loud for the injectors. Was there anything in the oil when you changed it? Like metal or shavings, or ???

No and before the oil change I had already cut open the oil filter and closely searched for shaves.

Another post in this section about bent pushrods and broken rockers. Do the '15 trucks have defective lifters? Ez to pull valve covers and look for loose rockers which would be bent pushrods or bad lifters.

I think you have a afm issue. A partial lifter collapsed. I wouldn't start it up anymore because you risk damage to the cam. You really need to atleast pull the valve covers and check for loose push rods. That would give you more information and be less intrusive at this point. If one or more are loose then you might as well pull the heads and pony up for a AFM deleted. You can buy a kit at Texas Speed for about a grand and then have someone to do the labor and tune out the AFM or just go back to factory stock lifters and cam. The price will be very close on parts and labor for either route you take. I would do the AFM Delete. No more worries.

I was wondering about that possibility but I don't have any experience with the AFM. Neither of my trucks have that system thankfully.
