On my 98 Tahoe I've been trying to chase a parasitic draw. Every now and then the truck will not start either. Pump pressure is good. I removed the harness to the fuel pump and pulled all the wires from it right to the front. While doing this I notice a thick blue wire was completely severed. This wire runs in the main protective bundle along with the fuel pump and rear lights. Does anyone know what this wire is for? I reconnected the wire but have't noticed any difference.

Not sure about your harness but a #10 or large blue wire can be a brake controller power wire to the hitch connector, to connect to trailer brakes. That's if the mfr uses the standard trailer color codes in the harness.
