When transmission in manual mode is AFM bypassed?

My 13 PPV seems to run a little rough in V-4 mode driving around town, but if I run the trans in M4, or M5 it seems to smooth out, and wondering if it bypasses AFM? I plan to have it checked out since I still have powertrain warranty until April. Service writer said they can miss fire in V-4 and not turn on a check engine light, but can be seen on a scan tool.

Yes, Manual mode will never engage the AFM system. Check your motor mounts too.

Only if you use m1-m5. When you put it in m6, it will engage AFM.
