As the hunt continues, Laura GMC still comes out on top.

Recently spoke with dealership about a hour north.
Denali 4x4
ACC
Power running boards
22" Six spoke aluminum rims
$69,275 + TT&L

Laura has a similar vehicle but without the power running boards ($1,745 option) for about $66k.

Going to wait until incentives change or dealerships get more desperate as the month ticks on.

What percentage off of MSRP are we talking? That and/or the percentage under invoice are the key figures IMO.

New dealership about 6 hours north of me:

Denali 4x4
Power Running Boards
ACC
Open Road
$68,710.

This is actually better than laura's current pricing on a similar vehicle by about $1000. Im tempted to pull the trigger but also cautious. From the research ive done, it seems like August is going to have larger rebates on these vehicles.

Advice very much appreciated and welcomed.

are you negotiating with these dealers or just asking for pricing? If you're ready to buy, give them a firm number to hit. Tell them once that number is hit, you'll be there within a week. Tell them you'll come pre approved with a 3rd party financing but ready to use their finance guy too if it makes sense (thats a much more appealing proposition than being a cash buyer). Send it to all of the dealers you've been speaking with and then sit back.

I am negotiating. I have written up an email comparing specific vehicles on their lot to identical vehicles on Laura's lot at that other GMC dealer in Idaho or wherever. For vehicles with different items/packages I equate out the cost difference.

It's very well put together and researched (I'll provide it if anyone wants to see it). Every single dealer has come back around the same price point. $68-$69k. About $10k off the MSRP on the vehicle.

I specifically state that I can do the deal today and that I will finance with the dealership. I'm guessing maybe it's too early in the month and they're just not hungry yet.

Interesting. And you've said "if you do $x price I'll be there in x days"?

Yup. Exact sentence was "if we agree to pricing I can be at your dealership TODAY to sign the papers".

My thoughts are that the incentives aren't that great for denalis right now and it's still early in the month. They have no fire.

I've talked with multiple dealers and they all say they have no issue moving denalis and that's why there are incentives on the SLT

And you've given then a specific price to hit?

Exact email I sent multiple dealerships:

______________________________________________________________________________
Below is the pricing I want to pay for the vehicle on your lot. I have also included references from other dealerships to show how I arrived at this number.

James Wood GMC:

Yukon Denali 4x2 $ 62,000

http://www.jameswooddecatur.com/VehicleDetails/new-2017-GMC-Yukon-Denali-Decatur-TX/3002663733

Dennis Dillon GMC (i use the “Sale price” for this reference and not the “As low as” price):

Vehicle Example 1:

MSRP: $75,545

Sale price: $64,239

Options INCLUDED on this vehicle (but not on yours):

- 22” 6 spoke chrome multi-featured design (-$2,900)

- 4x4 (-$3,000)

Options NOT included on this vehicle (but included on yours):

- Power Retractable Running boards ($1,745)

- 22” machined aluminum rims ($2,495)

This would bring the total price of this vehicle to: $62,579
