Honestly you could just wire in a switch inline between the lights and the battery, in the engine bay. Just make sure you know where you put the switch!

I was thinking of the old school pin type switch ( correct term?) that would turn them on when the hood opened. Was hoping one of you cool guys had done the homework. I guess I need to get off my lazy A** and do some research.

How about a under hood light like out of a mid nineties GM car or truck, open the hood light comes on, don't need light, bend light down. Why would GM discontinue something so simple. damm accountants they ruin everything make it cheaper they say!!!!!

I found some door jamb switches. 2 for under $5. My LED reverse lights, LED underhood lights, and switches should be here by the 12th.
2 mods for less than 20 bucks. Damn, I'm a cheap Bastach.
Nice.
Same concept, good find.

How about the light from a NBS? I added LED strip lights and wired them into my factory light that comes on when I open the hood. Cost was less than $10 for the added lights, the original light can still be bought new.
