I am being told that the 9.5 inch lift I have is making the angle on my U joint too steep and they are recommending possibly a double U joint and maybe a shimmy?

Any thoughts on if this is what I need to have done and what roughly should I pay for parts and labor. Just an fyi I am not off roading in it at all. Just a street queen. I attached a pic of the ujoint so that the angle is shown.

Also what should parts and labor for a new starter run for my Tahoe. Its a 1997.

Thx

They are right that is way to steep.
Not a shimmy a shim.
This will roll the front of the driveshaft up more.

These are the 2 options they gave me

OPTION 1
TRANSFER CASE DROP KIT WITH REAR DRIVE SHAFT SPACER 425.00 + SHIPPING

OPTION 2

CV REAR DRIVE SHAFT 925.00 + SHIPPING

Any thoughts?

Lower the truck.

I was thinking the same thing. 9 inch lift to drive around town seems excessive to me, but I guess if you want it that high, you definitely have to do something to save those ujoints. Maybe disconnect the rear drive shaft and go FWD ;)
