You could always remove the overhead area and try to get them out that way. There's a pin on the right hand side that indexes full-down and half-down, that you could also try to finagle, to get it to drop all of the way down

Mine got stuck too. Never put them in there again. What a waste of good space.

Yup, my prescription bi-focal sunglasses got stuck in there. Finally got them out, but broke the glasses in the process. Stupid design, stupid user. Now I'm out $150 for scrip shades. Not using that again!!!!!!!

I think I'll glue it shut so nobody else makes my mistake.

In truth, GM msy have conspired with sunglasses makers in the design of that feature, and get a commission on sale of replacement shades.
