My son's 1998 two door Tahoe 4WD

Speedometer has been bouncing for some time and ABS light has been coming on lately.
Today while driving home, speedometer went to zero. Won't go into 3 & 4. Code P0500
Changed both speed sensors. No change.

Any suggestions?

Do you have access to a scanner like a Tech II or equivalent that will show you the speed being reported by the front wheel speed sensors? Im thinking since the ABS light is coming on it might be one of them. Or if there's reluctors in the transfer case that those sensors use. I chased a speed sensor problem on my 08 and it ended up being a reluctor problem on my rear axle. My Tech II let me look at them as I was driving so I could pinpoint it.

Well it looks like ABS wheel speed sensors are only about $20 so you could buy one and try it on a front wheel and if that doesn't work, swap it to the other side to eliminate the possibility.
